My old boss used to think it was acceptable to offer me time as payment for the work I do. This strange attitude never sat well with me, how am I supposed to pay the bills with time? So when Tiny Buddha dropped this phrase into my twitter feed I felt it only right that I knock up a little poster for the office wall:

Being one myself, “hysterical, snot nosed little punks” will always hold a special place in my  heart. So when I was given the opportunity to work with Tommy and the Post Office, naturally, I jumped at the chance.

As with any band I work with I went to check out their live show. No disappointments here – their songs turned out to be catchy as hell and their energy was perfect.

I felt it was important to try and capture that energy in these recordings so I opted for what is, essentially, a fully live capture. But as we were in the studio we bunged in a few extra bits of musicianship and technical wizardry, just to beef things up a little.

All in all the 6 hour session was thoroughly enjoyable and highly productive. We churned out 4 songs in total, 2 of which can be heard on this page, the other 2 will be available via the band at a later date.

I’ll hopefully be working with these guys a lot more in the near future so stay tuned! In the meantime have a listen to their demos then send ‘em some love via their facebook page.
